Sometimes the worst thing about growing up is having to deal with your evil sibling(s). For the older one, it’s a chance to impart wisdom and advice over the younger…or to ruin things for the younger one when they become older. For the younger one, it’s a chance to show up the older sibling and defeat them in a battle for parental love. However, on occasion, there have been some sibling combinations that have done pretty well for themselves and we will take a look on who they are (in no particular order):
1.) Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo

I'm going to regret touching you later..
Luke and Leia are the twin children of Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker (the future Darth Vader). What makes Luke and Leia one of the best fictional siblings is that they weren’t even supposed to be siblings at first when George Lucas concocted the Star Wars saga (hence their awkward kiss in Episode V). How’s that for Jedi therapy sessions? Luke goes on to save his father from the dark side, save the Rebel Alliance, and become one of the most powerful Jedi in the history of the galaxy (All while receiving minimal Jedi training from Obi-Wan and Yoda). Leia goes on to marry Han Solo and have children with him and learn the ways of the Force as well as becoming an influential leader in the newly formed Republic. Saving the galaxy, becoming Jedi masters, and having children with Harrison Ford. Not bad for children of a one-time slave eh?
2.) Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson

If Homer is considered to be one of the greatest cartoon characters of all time, then certainly his children must be on the list for best siblings. Maggie has been a toddler for over a decade now, and has barely said anything throughout the show’s run. She might be a genius, and was involved in one of the greatest Simpsons mysteries ever, in Who Shot Mr. Burns? Her trademark is tripping on the floor and sucking on her pacifier. Lisa is the smartest of the three, and is an active environmentalist. Along with Marge, she seems to be the only Simpson to have some set of morals and values. Bart is quite possibly the most recognizable Simpson character. His signature phrases “Eat my shorts,” “Ay Caramba!” and “Don’t have a cow, man,” have become staples in everyday conversation. Bart was even named as Entertainer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly in 1990! He has helped the show gain popularity in its early years. Also, Bart is voiced by a woman, a fact few people know.
3.) The Mario Brothers (Mario and Luigi)

Mario and Luigi are the most famous pair of plumbers in the history of ..well plumbers. Mario Mario (yes, that’s his last name too) is the most recognizable video game mascot around the world and represents Nintendo. His video games have always helped push the envelope for the next generation of gaming (most notably in Super Mario 64), and are always fun to play at parties and gatherings. Starting as Donkey Kong’s rival, he has now surpassed the big ape and is now in full 3D, after years of being only a 2D sprite. You will be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t played a Mario game at least once in their life. Luigi, on the other hand, had a miserable existence as a palette swap of Mario in 2 player games. Slowly though, Luigi has gained in popularity and even starring in his own video game (unfortunately), Luigi’s Mansion. In the Mario sports games, Mario is always the most balanced character, but Luigi has his own quirks, like being able to jump higher than Mario (perhaps because he doesn’t weigh as much). As long as Nintendo is making video games, the Mario Bros. will be there.
4.) Romulus and Remus

Romulus and Remus are considered to be the founders of Rome in ancient mythology. The story goes that Romulus killed his twin brother Remus in order to rule individually over the new city. The city of Rome is supposedly named after Romulus. Romulus and Remus stem from other mythological and biblical tales of one brother slaying another, notable Cain and Abel. Romulus and Remus came from Aeneas, fugitive of Troy. The twins were said to have been raised by wolves too. A damn fine job going from wolves to ruling one of the most powerful and influential empires in the history of the world.
