Halloween 2009 is two and a half weeks away and if you haven’t already decided on a costume, it’s time to start thinking. Many couples decide to have matching outfits, such as the classic electric plug and jack or the ‘Sonny and Cher’ look. In this article, I will give you some ideas for creative couple outfits that will make your friends jealous and hopefully get a few laughs.
1.) Potential Costume – Kanye West and Taylor Swift

A great couple costume for this upcoming Halloween is the “Kanye West and Taylor Swift.” It’s simple to do this one. All you need to do is have the guy shave strange swirls into his head and then whenever “Taylor” speaks, just interrupt her and say that something related is the best of all time. For example, if, during the course of the Halloween party, there was an argument about…. who is the greatest US president and everyone is saying Thomas Jefferson, then “Kanye” can jump in and say “I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but George Washington is one of the best presidents of all time!” Rinse, Repeat. It’ll be a hit.
2.) Potential Costume – Jon and Kate Gosselin
Another good costume for couples is the “Jon and Kate” look. Sure, they may be in the process of getting a divorce, but they are nonetheless entertaining. In order to put this one together, you just need to say to people you are Jon and Kate. No other work is necessary. Although having an argument or two will help the illusion.
Bonus tip: If you have kids, try to put your names before a “plus (random number).” Ex: Joy and Lou Plus Two, Mike and Bree Plus Three, or Jessica and Chris Plus Six
3.) Potential Costume – The Many Jerseys of Brett Favre
If you guys are both into sports, then this one might be for you. One person wears a Brett Favre Vikings Jersey
Bonus tip: If you know another couple, then have them wear a Brett Favre Jets Jersey and a Brett Favre Falcons Jersey.
4.) Potential Costume – Barack Obama and Sarah Palin
I know, I know, a lot of people will be dressing up as Obama or Palin. But how many will be dressing up as them, together? Think of that. The Obama costume will always be popular until he is no longer the President. As for the Palin outfit, just put your hair up, get a pair of glasses and a red jacket and you’re set to go.
5.) Potential Costume – Twitter Bird and Myspace Tom
To pull this one off, you just need a few things. First, the guy has to wear a white shirt, and have a short haircut. Next, the girl dresses in all blue and maybe adds some wings to be the Twitter Bird. Voila! You are now Social Media. You might even make MySpace relevant.
6.) Potential Costume – iPod Earbuds
One of the most creative couple costumes I've ever seen
The next two are for Apple lovers. The first one is the iPod earbuds. It’s simple to do the “wire” part. Just wear all white and have the letter R or L on your shirt. You’ll have to get a little more creative with the actual earbuds. But hey, everyone will want to listen to you at least.
7.) Potential Costume – iPod and iPhone
If you’re not into the earbuds, this one might be for you. Who doesn’t have an iPod these days? You can choose between the older version with the click wheel or the iPod Touch (Whoever is the cooler partner should get the iPod Touch. However you get to that decision is up to you. With a little creativity, tape, and elbow grease, you can be just like them!
