You’re tired. You’re hungry. You don’t really want to go to a sit down restaurant because it takes too long to order and eat. So what do you decide to do instead? Call up your favorite place for pick-up. Why not? It’s only around the block. However, before you sit down and enjoy that meal you drove back from the restaurant, there are 5 facts that you are sure to encounter.
1.) You have at least one restaurant saved to your contacts on a cell phone
There is a reason that you ordered from a particular place and there’s a good chance that it is because you have their number saved on your cell phone. When the question of “What should we order for dinner tonight?” comes up, the answer will be “Well, I have so-and-so on my phone, sound good?” Yes, yes it does.
2.) Chinese food is always ready in 10 minutes, no matter how much you order
If you decided on Chinese food, you’ll be eating in no time. Why’s this? Because no matter what you order or how much food the order contains, it will always be ready in 10 minutes. Always.
3.) When ordering pizza, you’ll be convinced to order a larger size pizza because it’s somehow cheaper
You would think that a large pizza would be more expensive than a medium, right? Well, not in the pizza universe. A medium pizza is usually more expensive than a larger pizza with a 2 liter soda. Don’t question it; just enjoy the tasty goodness.
4.) Ordering online doesn’t save any time at all
Many restaurants are now enabling orders online to “save time.” Really? How is typing or selecting an order from a dropdown menu any easier than actually saying it on the phone to a person? In fact, ordering online would probably slow you down because of all the choices there are and then you have to enter your credit card information. Of course you don’t have your card on you, so then you have to go get your wallet to type in all the numbers. Meanwhile, for the people who just used the phone, they’re eating already.
5.) There is at least one person you know who leaves a tip when picking up the order
Why are you leaving a tip? You’re the one who drove to get it! If anything, the restaurant should give YOU a tip (or a discount).
