5 Animals That Could Take Over the World

Our planet is home to many different forms of life, from plants to animals to bacteria. However, human beings have been the only species to fully manipulate and control their environment. Lurking in the shadows, though, are five species that are looking to take over man’s place as the top species. These “fearsome five” all have the capabilities to take over the world. If you ever have that feeling that you are being watched, it’s because one of these species is doing surveillance on you.

1.) Cats
Method of Domination: Mind Control

I may look cute, but it's part of the plan..

I may look cute, but it's part of the plan..

In case it wasn’t already obvious, a University of Sussex study revealed that cats have the ability to control humans. They control us by emitting a high-pitched meow, which annoys us and makes us pay attention to them and feed them. For those who do have cats, they are all too familiar with their cat’s ability to interfere in “human” affairs. Imagine if every single cat in the world did this high-pitched meow at once. Millions of people would immediately be under the control of the felines. While they wouldn’t be able to get rid of us, they could control our governments, economy and culture and if we get out of line, they will be happy to scratch or bite us. Fear the kittehs.

2.) Argentine Ants
Method of Domination: Sheer Numbers

Resistance is futile!

Resistance is futile!

You might be thinking, how will puny little ants take over the world? They are no threat to me! Think again. Argentine ants have spread to six continents throughout the world (the exception being Antarctica). They are an extremely invasive species, and take over other ant species’ nests living in the area. Their nest is so large that scientists have called them “supercolonies.” One supercolony, in Europe, spans over 3,700 miles alone! They can easily outnumber us humans 40-1 if they so choose. Unlike most ants though, if you mingle two Argentine ants from different parts of the world together, they will be BFF’s and act like nothing strange is going on, so mixing them up won’t help. We can only hope that there will be a magnifying glass large enough to cover their supercolonies. We can’t nuke them either – they’d probably survive.

3.) Chimpanzees
Method of Domination: Intelligence and Strength

The future

The future

Chimpanzees are man’s closest living relative but have a reputation for being aggressive, even going as far as attacking people. In fact, chimps are so dangerous that the U.S. House of Representatives has approved a ban of primate pets. This will allow the chimps time to plan. They can use tools and sign language, and can be cannibalistic at times and if they were to get the support of gorillas and other great apes, then the human race will be in trouble. In hand-to-hand combat, it would be difficult to overpower a gorilla (unless you have training). If they can use tools, they can certainly use a gun. It might be an Ape Civil War on our hands.

4.) Jellyfish
Method of Domination: Immortality

Immortal Jellyfish
Usually when a jellyfish mates, it dies. It’s the circle of life, a natural occurrence. One jellyfish sticks it middle tentacle up at the circle of life. When Turritopsis Nutricula mate, they don’t die. Instead, they revert back to their juvenile form and repeat the process to achieve a form of biological immortality.

The Smithsonian Tropical Marine Institute has even said “We are looking at a worldwide silent invasion.”

Even if they never attacked human civilizations directly, they can just wait until we wipe ourselves out. The only way to destroy this jellyfish is remove its nerve center. Who is going to volunteer to do that?

5.) Dolphins
Method of Domination: Sheer numbers, intelligence, and a thirst for human flesh

I want you to watch this video, but replace the words “sardine” with “human flesh.”

Once dolphins gain the ability to go on land, we will be destroyed.
